For those who have had little or no experience of pottery, it can be a little daunting to work in the studio and learn to create hand built and thrown forms. This two day course introduces you to all the basic ceramic techniques.
On this two-day course you will get a deep dive into techniques such as:
Coiling, Slab building, How to throw a pot on the wheel, Sculpting in clay, glaze techniques.
You will also try various decorative techniques, including sgraffito, slip-painting and glazing. Suitable for beginners and those with ceramic experience.
Each day runs from 10am to 5pm and has a one hour break to drop into town and sample the delights of Kinsale's great cuisine, or bring your packed lunch.
All your work will be fired and glazed within 2 weeks of the class, ready for collection .
